119. Nightfall beckons

Let not the night mourn in despair

As darkness snuffs out the flame

Of yellow ochre stains that streak

Quite noiselessly

Across turquoise painted skies.

Let not the silence hold her breath

As wispy clouds circle a silver moon.

Howling dogs call out our names

Quite faithfully

And so our wild hearts sigh.

Let not the inky blackness swallow me whole

For the night is dark, darker than it was yesterday.

The stars are hidden, far away from all light.

I strain my eyes to make out my path.

118. Like a leaf in the wind

My life is drifting
Like a leaf
In the wind,

Where will I go?

I twirl and dance
With every breath he takes,
I wonder,

How far will he blow?

Sometimes the raindrops
Come to meet me,
I look for them,

Do they know?

They cleanse my heart,
They drench my fears,
They quench my thirst,

Watching me grow.

My life has its
Ups and downs
Most certainly,

Just like yours and so,

Do take my hand,
Let’s dance as one
In the wind,

So silently and slow.

115. Remember

Remember,

Through it all

You will stand once more

With your shoulders back

And your head held high.

Remember,

Through it all

You will smile once more

With your spirit healed

And your heart will know why.

Remember.

49. Dis-chord

I’m sorry,
I didn’t hear your heart make a sound
Just now.

I’m sorry,
But did your heart break into a million pieces
Just now?

I’m sorry,
Did someone dare to tear your soul apart
Just now?

I’m sorry,
Could I hold you close to me
Right now?

The night will stay as dark
As it has always been.
The darkness can linger on your breath
Even when you shut your eyes.

23. Stay

i would stay
if you could change

i would stay
if you could keep your word

i would stay
if you didn’t let us drown

i would stay
if you could remember
i don’t deserve to be hurt

i would stay
if you didn’t stray

i would stay
if you could hold my hand

i would stay
if i could

17. Love in every way

there’s an empty seat beside me on the bus
but you’re choosing to stand.

there’s a flower that’s standing alone in the garden
without any shade.

the more I think about it,
the more I don’t understand it.

it doesn’t feel like I’m yours.
it doesn’t feel like you’re mine.
is it the same for you?

6. Arguments

Pernicious

But delicious,

You tempt me

And I forget whence I came.

Tenacious

So audacious,

You grip me

And I forget who I am.

Vexatious

And flirtatious,

You twist me

And I forget what I can.

Loquacious

Yet perspicacious,

You silence me

Again and again.
