56. Colour

The colour of your eyes,
The colour of my eyes,
Will never be the same,
For you are you
And I am I.

We are individuals,
Each and every one of us,
Beautiful,
Different,
Unique,
Like night and day.

Our hearts may beat
A shared rhythm.
And blood that looks the same
May run through common veins
But we will each be only
‘Me’.

What you see
Will never ever be
Exactly
What my life shows me.

We can open each other’s eyes
And hearts and souls
But I will remain till my dying day
Stuck in the same body
In which I came.

46. Empty mind

The open mind isn’t an empty mind,
The quiet mind isn’t the silenced mind,
The falling rain isn’t the tearing of the sky,
My own mind is what I’m trying to find.

The rain keeps falling outside,
Heavy raindrops hit down hard on the ground.
The trees cast shadows down the hallowed path,
Opening a new way to view the world.

Perhaps this is a journey I must walk alone,
Nobody will know where my path leads.
This new mind I seek will be mine alone,
Free from the past and you.
