Like the white snow that fell from the sky,
Your love, once pure, was all I could see.
Like the cold wind that lashed mercilessly at me,
Your lies, so painful, showed your disloyalty.
Betrayal came only from the one I truly loved,
Betrayal came from the one I so ardently believed.
Betrayal came from the familiar,
the trusted
the broken
the hurt,
over and over again.
Betrayal lead to the bleeding of my heart,
a hard lesson for my saddened mind,
Betrayal shook me, tore me apart,
and became part of my human experience.
